Tarkov Halloween Begins!

Funky pumpkin helmets, a spooky atmosphere, a decorated hideout, and an abundance of sweets: it’s time for another Tarkov Halloween! With a recent minor update, Battlestate Games has reintroduced the beloved autumn event, offering a unique twist to your regular raids and in-game activities. Let’s dive into what this event entails!

A brief foreword: keep in mind that Halloween has just started, and there’s a likelihood of numerous updates and intensifications in the coming days. I intend to keep this article fresh with information, so don’t forget to revisit Tarkov Tips occasionally. As for the event’s overall span, anticipate it lasting anywhere from one to two weeks.

Pumpkin Loot Boxes During Tarkov Halloween

One of the most noticeable current changes are the pumpkin-shaped loot boxes dispersed across all maps. These pumpkins, appearing in random spots as “loose loot,” are hard to miss due to their size, making them easily noticeable. Inside, you’ll typically find several (3-5) “sweet” items, including sugar, chocolate, condensed milk, or rat cola. However, there’s a catch: these boxes can’t be opened in-raid, leading to a paradox where you might starve even while carrying a bag of “treats.” A crucial tip regarding these loot-filled pumpkins: avoid selling them on the flea market! They are going for about 100 K Roubles now, but the fee is a hefty 300 K Roubles, meaning you’d be down by 200 K with each sale.

Altered Bosses, Scavs, and Flares

Tarkov Halloween also implements some modifications in AI behavior. For instance, Tagilla, the Factory boss, and Killa’s sibling, is now wandering around Labs. Additionally, Scavs might appear with a Lantern “helmet,” which, despite looking impressive (particularly at night), doesn’t provide any specific in-game advantages at the moment. However, based on previous Halloween events, this feature could receive unique event-related enhancements soon.

Tarkov Halloween Party

Another minor but interesting game element is the introduction of the so-called distress flare. This signal cartridge, emitting a poison green effect, intriguingly turns Scavs and even bosses into dependable allies. It’s worth experimenting with, and you’re likely to enjoy the outcome! Be assured, as the Tarkov Halloween event unfolds, we’re bound to encounter more exhilarating updates!
