Tarkov Halloween Part Two: The Conjuring of Zryachiy

Tarkov Halloween Part Two: The Conjuring of Zryachiy

Welcome back to another round of Tarkov Halloween! The event is in full swing now, so let’s make sure you’re well-prepared for the grind. In case you missed the beginning of the event, feel free to check out my previous news article. Otherwise, let’s dive into the dark magic and occult rituals!

Zryachiy Joins the Tarkov Halloween!

The highlight of the current event is the appearance of Zryachiy, the sniper who is usually protecting Lightkeeper. This boss spawns on each outdoor map right now (100 % spawn chance). In other words, the only two maps “without the event” are Factory and Labs.

In the first place, Zryachiy is friendly towards players and will even drop you some goodies, similar to the Santa mechanics known from Christmas events. The fun begins when someone eliminates Zryachiy. As soon as that happens, day turns into night, and an occult ritual begins somewhere on the map.

The Ritual: Your Options and the Outcomes

The ritual place is easy to spot: a blue ray of light shines onto the location, usually visible from far away. Around the blue beam, you will encounter a few (usually six) cultists performing some black magic shenanigans. You now have two options: interrupting the ritual by killing the cultists or letting them finish their dark business.

In general, you should try to cancel the ritual, loot the dead cultists (excellent loot, including red/violet keycards, etc.), and extract. Be aware of extract campers due to a limited amount of available exfils during the event, though!

If you don’t cancel the ritual, the cultists will summon an evil and overpowered version of Zryachiy. This demon has an insane amount of HP (>40000) and has an aura that jams your weapons. The only way to kill the boss is by using melee or non-jamming guns, such as the PPSh. The evil Zryachiy doesn’t have any loot, however. Hence, there is little to no reason to “farm” him.

Let’s hope this short article helps you a little throughout the event! In case you’re interested in how other players perceive the event, check out this recent discussion on Twitter. Good luck with the raids!
