Scav in the foreground, Fence in the Background. Title says "TerraGroup Trail".

TerraGroup Trail: A Multi-Part Event

The recent multi-part event in Tarkov is all about the investigation of the mysterious TerraGroup Trail. It’s likely that this questline is what Nikita referred to as the “End-Wipe Highlight” in the recent TarkovTV episode (see summary). According to his words, completing all parts of the quest will result in some significant and maybe even permanent reward. Right now, only the first three episodes/subtasks are available and the rewards aren’t extraordinary (just XP and some common items). But, it’s a good idea to start the quests now. After all, no one knows how long this event will be around.

Update 1: after a few days, the questline is significantly extended (12+ parts), leading to some intrigues involving the mysterious Lightkeeper. For instance, one of the later rewards is the DSP radio transmitter required to cross the Lighthouse peninsula bridge.

Update 2: Completing the questline rewards players with two additional rows in their stash for the upcoming wipe! Hurry up if you want to secure this cool bonus.

Getting Started

The first leg of the quest sends you to Shoreline, where you’re tasked to find some dead Scavs for Fence. The bodies are at a small camp close to the crashed drone (on the village side of the map). Keep in mind, you must survive and extract from the location, which leads us to our next point…

Boss Spawns

Look out for the goons! And Sanitar! Both boss groups have a guaranteed spawn and they’re set to ambush players in the Cottage area (check out my recent Twitch clip for reference). Proceed with extreme caution, these goons won’t hesitate to open fire from a distance, and Birdeye has an uncanny knack for landing headshots through various obstructions like fences, trees, or even house walls. Scavs are usually ignored by the goons during this event, so if you’re running low on cash, it’s a smart move to scout this area for dead PMC bodies.

Subtasks 2 and 3

For the second part of the quest, you’ll need to take down two “weird Scavs.” They spawn in various places on Shoreline and Lighthouse. I think the easiest way to complete this quest is to visit the old village on Lighthouse. The weird Scavs look normal but are way more aggressive and dangerous. Don’t skip looting them, as the new Obdolbos-N stim is necessary to complete the quest. Brace yourself for some high-octane PvP action, as other players will also be on the hunt for these peculiar characters. For the third part, you’ll need to retrieve a “mysterious laptop” at the water treatment plant on Lighthouse. The laptop can be found in several places within the shacks at the southwestern entrance by the sea.

What’s Next?

Of course, the three tasks I’ve outlined are just the start! The challenges escalate as you delve deeper into this new questline. For example, part four has you venturing into the cottages on Shoreline, which is no easy feat considering Sanitar and his goons are guarding it! If you persist and keep tackling the tasks, you’ll ultimately be rewarded with the Lightkeeper access item (part 12). Stay tuned, as I’ll be updating this article as soon as there are more developments!

Update: Final Reward

Curious about what you’ll receive once you’ve completed all 19 parts of the questline? I can assure you, it’s definitely worthwhile! For the first time, Battlestate Games is offering a (somewhat) permanent quest reward. If you successfully finish “Terragroup Trail”, your PMC will kick off the next wipe with two extra rows in his stash! So, it’s time to gear up and get grinding!
